At The Haven Men’s Shelter, our mission is to break the cycle of chronic homelessness by empowering motivated men to rebuild their lives with dignity, purpose, and hope. We go beyond offering a safe place to sleep—we provide a comprehensive, high-accountability program that addresses the root causes of homelessness, such as addiction, mental health challenges, and financial instability. Every man who enters The Haven begins a personalized journey, supported by case managers, counselors, and a community that believes in second chances.
We also welcome individuals, families, and local organizations to volunteer their time and talents. From serving food and mentoring to helping with transportation or facility needs, there are countless ways to get involved. When our community shows up, men at The Haven see what hope in action truly looks like.
Together, we can break the cycle of homelessness—one man, one meal, one moment at a time. Join us in giving hope, restoring dignity, and building a stronger community. Your support changes lives.
We help companies create impactful CSR, grantmaking, and employee engagement programs that open doors for our men to contribute and connect locally.

After entering The Haven, Derrick earned his GED. Derrick has now enrolled in college and is attending York Technical College. He is studying welding and is getting excellent grades. He was also hired by Winthrop University and is working in the cafeteria full time. After leaving The Haven and at his exit interview, Derrick was very thankful and grateful for all the support at The Haven had given to him; he said “all he needed was someone to back him up
I learned so much about what it means to be a man at the Haven. I came into the Haven a shy person with no drive, but today I can say that I am a better man and a well-rounded person. Dwight not only excelled in the Haven program, but with the support and guidance of the Haven staff, Dwight was able to move into his own apartment. The Haven staff pulled together to provide Dwight with furniture and other needed items for his new apartment.
Thanks to the support of the Haven staff and the Executive Director, Andrew graduated his program and received his CDL (Commercial Driving License). Andrew is presently driving Tractor Trailer Trucks with the hopes of owning his own truck in the next couple of years.
